The A-Frame Structure may be the simplest temporary survival structure to erect and could save your life. This structure will provide protection against the wind while still being able to be heated at the entrance.
One disadvantage however, is the occupants can’t lie parallel to the fire for even warmth.
Step 1- Lift one end of a log, and either lash it or wedge it into the crotch of a tree
Step 2- Tilt poles on either side of the Ridge pole to form an A-Frame.
Step 3- Strengthen and thatch the roof by placing poles horizontal and lash them together.
Take leaves or other debris to cover the roof and provide protection against the wind and light rain. Build a fire near the entrance for warmth.
